Endowments and Their Inclusion of Health Services in Islamic Civilization

General Objective of the Scientific Material:
This study is an attempt to highlight the significant impact contributed by the endowment (waqf) system in constructing the structure of Islamic civilization, through enriching and building many of its aspects. The study has shown that the waqf system represents the fundamental economic pillar in many eras of Islam, that it overlapped in many of its forms and patterns, and that it was directly connected with many aspects of Islamic civilization—both influencing and being influenced by them. Consequently, scarcely any aspect of life in the Islamic society can be found without a link to the waqf system, though varying in the degree of its connection.
