Research Summary

There is no doubt that endowment (Waqf) is one of the most important economic systems that Muslims should be proud of. It has played a significant role throughout the ages in various social aspects of our Islamic civilization. Virtually no Islamic region has been devoid of endowments that were dedicated for the public good and the advancement of society in various aspects. Unfortunately, what is regrettable is that its status and role are continuously diminishing. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that there are tens of thousands of Muslims who know nothing about endowments and have never even heard of it.!
