Outcomes of Disappeared Awqaf and Reasons for Disappearance

Awqaf have witnessed periods of growth and prosperity in which they attracted admiration; not only because of their proliferation among classes of society but also by durability and the permanence of Waqf benefits. This permanence has become one of the basics of charitable and humanitarian works at the current time. This research aims to highlight the Awqaf that departed from this rule which is (permanence); the disappeared Awqaf mentioned by Muhammad Kurd Ali (may Allah have mercy on him) in his encyclopedic famous book (Al-Sham Plans). The research also aims to recognize the outcomes to which these Awqaf have ended and to determine some reasons that led to the disappearance of Awqaf in Syria.
